I did it!

Last fall I learned something new, something I have always wanted to do but just had this preconceived notion that it was too hard or too time consuming. I learned how to make jelly, jams, preserves, relishes, ect AND the whole canning technique. It turns out that it wasn't hard or really that time consuming and it is actually quite relaxing! Because my husband is a fantastic gift giver and knows just what I would love even before I know it, he gave me all sorts of canning gadget-ry. And thank you to Farmer Curtis Milsap, I have a ton of produce to can! :-) This was my first attempt at canning outside of supervision...and it turned out great! And with the amount of peaches I have been receiving from my fruit CSA share, I'm sure there will be more Peach Preserves in the near future.

  2. hooray! I started canning last year too, and I'm hoping to not buy the J for PB&Js for the whole year. Next year, maybe homemade PB could happen...? :-)

    what else have you preserved?
